This scarf is neat and trim, meant to be tucked into a collar. The pattern can be knit with any super chunky yarn. The baby alpaca is fabulous around the neck and close to skin.

On your second to last row of seed stitch border, work pattern stitch for 4 stitches, cast off 9 stitches and work the last 4 stitches. On the next row, work the 4 stitches, do an e-wrap cast on for 9 stitches and work the remaining 4 stitches. You’ve just created an opening to thread the other end of the scarf when it’s done. It’s a nice option to looping the scarf over. A shawl pin would look very nice on this scarf, too.

I finished the pattern before I remembered to do this! It must have been because of the tense, adrenaline filled British mystery I was compelled to watch!

Have fun,
Jenny
