Whimbrel is worked from the top down in one piece with basketweave panels on each front and down the center back. A simple knit and purl texture pattern is worked as a horizontal detail towards the bottom of the piece. I put the button on the side that is opposite of traditional, however because a crochet loop is used as the closure, you may simply sew it onto the other front if desired:)

Finished Measurements at bust- 33 ¼ (36 ¾, 40, 43 ¼, 46 ¾, 50, 53 ½, 56 ¾, 60 ¼)” buttoned, with fronts overlapping.

Hickory Series by Hidden Valley Farm (100% Coopworth wool; 4 oz/ 113 g hank = approx 220 yards)
Approx yards- 995 (1090, 1195, 1285, 1390, 1485, 1570, 1680, 1770) Natural Gray
Needles:
• One 29” circular (circ) needle size US 7 (4.5 mm). (Body is worked flat, circ needle is used to accommodate large number of sts)
• One set double pointed needles (dpns) size US 7 (4.5 mm). (for sleeves)
Or size to obtain gauge.
• One 24” circ needle size US 5 (3.75) (for neck trim)
