Whinlatter socks
This pattern is available as a
free Ravelry download
This is a simple, cabled toe up sock ideally suited to solid or semi-solid yarn. Sized for an average woman’s foot (UK size 6) it is easy to customise the length of the foot or width if required.
29.08.12: Please note that an updated version of the pattern (v1.1) is now available. Whilst there are no errors in the original, the heel turn instructions lacked clarity - this has now been amended with thanks to ETB and knocked4aloop
Whinlatter is a beautiful area in the UK’s Lake District - a national park with wonderful managed forests, excellent views and, of course, red squirrels. It is Britain’s only true mountain park and a family favourite of ours for many years.
