The weatherman says another heat wave for the East Coast, but the calendar says it’s sweater weather! To prepare yourself for those cool days ahead, here is a great project to get started.

The Whipsaw Pullover is a traditional fitting sweater with updated details: a panel of easy lace on the front, reverse Stockinette stitch sleeves, and a little short row shaping at the back neck.

Worked from the bottom up, the body is worked first to the armholes; the sleeves are worked next and then joined to the body to complete the yoke with raglan sleeves.

Finished chest measurements are: 29.5 (32, 34.5, 36.75, 39.25, 41.5, 44)“ chest. The sample is shown in a size 32 with about 3” positive ease. Choose your size based on how body-hugging or loose you want your sweater to be.

This pullover is worked in worsted weight yarn on a size 7 needle; the sleeve directions are written for double points, but you can certainly use your circular method of choice.

You will need 760 (840, 925, 1020, 1120, 1235, 1355) yards of yarn; if you want to add length to the body, you will need to buy additional yarn.

The pattern is written and also includes a chart for the Whipsaw Stitch.
