Tawashi come in all shapes, sizes, colors and patterns. Anything you could possibly want can be a tawashi! I have patterns for fruit, veggies, animals, flowers, fish, hearts, etc… The one thing they all have in common is they make cleaning FUN!

This is a very simple and easy pattern to crochet. However, it will test your patience when it comes time to fold it. I suggest you do a search for “Hexagon Tawashi” if you need it. Or, you can do what I did- I used my protractor (for the first time since 3rd grade) and made a circle cut into 6ths. This will give you 6 60 degree points. Use this to make a tight and accurate fold each time. After making a few of these tawashi, you’ll be able to fold them perfectly the first time. :)

This little hexagon could be paired up with some baby wash and make a terrific baby shower gift. Homemade soap and this tawashi would make a thoughtful gift for someone with sensitive skin. I made one out of red and white yarn and it looked like a little peppermint candy- perfect for a holiday gift.

The finished tawashi is approximately 10 cm x 10 cm.

This is not my pattern! I have simply translated it from a German book for you. The translation from Japanese to German was awful. I simply rewrote it for you to save you grief and aggravation.

You’re welcome. :)
