This top-down sock design is one to play with—worked in two colors, the slip stitch patterns reveal constantly moving visual motifs that appear complicated but are not difficult to knit. Choose high contrast colors for the most impact or a more harmonious pairing for a subtly shifting effect. In a single variegated or nearly-solid handpaint yarn, the color story is tamed, allowing the depth and texture of the stitchwork to stand out. The pattern includes four sizes (S/M/L/XL) and has a flap heel construction; it is a good choice for very soft yarns as the slip stitch patterns lend stability to the final fabric.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and elasticity.

Sample is shown in size Medium, in Asylum Fibers Funny Farm, in colorways exclusive to the Knitspot Mood Swings club and Better Breakfast Fingering in Poppy Seed and Daybreak.
