Whispering Hope 2 - Shawl
After designing Whispering Hope, I came to the conclusion that a bit more playtime with this lovely combination of stitch patterns was in order.
Upon further investigation I (re) discovered a beautiful single skein of fingering weight yarn I had purchased a while ago, which I had actually been starting to feel guilty about purchasing, because I hadn’t been able to decide what to use it for. Now it seemed to scream at me, “ME - pick ME! Trust me, I’m the one you want!“ I couldn’t resist. It was my absolute 1st choice for this design.
A lovely, one skein project this was destined to be!
Designed using a single skein of Fingering Weight yarn, Whispering Hope 2 combines the same, simple but effective stitch patterns used in it’s predecessor, together in a different shape, with a finer yarn and needle. The finished item is a perfect accessory to add pizazz to a basic neckline, whilst also providing warmth to the neck area. Increases & decreases work together to create the shape of the design. Because of the way it’s constructed, this design can easily be made into a larger shawl, by working extra repeats prior to the final rows. It’s easy to do and simply explained in the pattern. Likewise, it can also be knit in heavier weight yarns, stopping when you are ready, using the (same) finishing guidelines included in the pattern. (A DK sample is on the needles right now & will be shared as a project, once completed.)
