This is the PDF digital knitting pattern for my little white dove. Each dove is approximately 14cm long and is easy to knit using a pair of 4mm knitting needles and the cream DK yarn of your choice. It’s all knitted in the flat, no knitting in the round necessary!

The pattern includes instructions on how to make up the dove, including the felt beak, with many photos. Each dove has a pipecleaner inside the tail to make it pose-able, and is gently weighted with a couple of glass pebbles for stability.

The dove is an ancient symbol of peace and love in many cultures - hope these knitted doves spread a little more peace and love into your world. I’m also hoping that people will knit these white doves as an alternative to releasing the real thing at weddings or funerals (so many of the released birds end up attacked by predators or in shelters as they are unable to fend for themselves after release).
