This hat has been designed to raise money for the White Helmets in Aleppo. The White Helmets are a courageous group of civilians who work to rescue injured people who have been trapped in rubble in war-torn Aleppo. You can find more information about their invaluable work at https://www.whitehelmets.org/en.

All the proceeds from sales of this pattern (other than Paypal fees) will go directly to the White Helmets, and a running tally of the money raised will be kept on this pattern page.

The hat is knitted in the round from the brim up. The ribbing of the brim carries up partway towards the crown, but instead of creating a simple straight edged band, the ribbing works upwards into a soft curve.

A pompom finishes the hat off nicely!
