What am I missing?
White Russian
An easy to wear tunic, knit top down, with a simple lace pattern and a few details like side shaping and a button flap. The neck is roomy without being too much, and the sleeves are short and tapered (altered after the first test knitting…)
I used the Jo Sharp for it’s softness and the little bit of drape that the yarn has, but this would work well in many other DK tweeds or fibers.
A NOTE ON LG SIZES - This has extra ease at the bust in the larger sizes – it worked out that way with the extra lace repeat, and I hate how lace stretches over boobs, so I was happy with the extra room for the sizes that usually need it there.
It’s 43 around for the L if you combine front and back, 46 for the XL, when you separate for sleeves. And as you add on stitches for the sides, you can build in an extra 4-6 inches (2-3 ea side), or keep things on the smaller side if you don’t need the additional room.
Note on needle size switch - after you work the neck funnel on 7s, switch to 6s for the set up row and the body. 7s again for the bottom ribbing. I left the sleeve ribbing on 6s since I like them to pull in.
