White Stone is a wear-with-anything, all-purpose cardigan that’s knit flat and seamed. The sleeves are set in by picking up stitches around the armhole, with short rows to form the sleeve cap. The lattice pattern on the yoke is just enough detail to set the cardigan apart, without limiting what you can wear it with. The fit is fairly close. If you want about 1” of positive ease, choose the size where your bust measurement is the larger of the two sizes. If you want a bit more ease, choose the size where your measurement is the smaller number. Pattern has been test knit, and includes both a chart an written directions for the lattice, along with a photo of the setup for the sleeve cap.

You will need 3 sizes of needles: one for the ribbing, one for the stockinette body, and one for the lattice that’s bigger than the body needle. I used US 5, 7, and 9 (3.75/4,5/5.5 mm). Swatch using the body needle. Directions are given for knitting the sleeves either in the round, or flat. If knitting the sleeves in the round, you will need DPNs or a small circular in the same sizes as your body and rib needles. A cable needle is needed for the lattice section.

The child’s version, White Pebble is also available!
