This pattern was inspired by the yearly trips to the Whitman County fair that I take with my four nieces.

The shawl is worked from the top edge down. The center motif is worked alongside the lace mesh.

The size of the shawl can be changed by going up or going down in needle size.

The final yardage used is about 523 yards and the pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn, however this pattern would also knit up very nicely in a lace weight yarn as well.

The pattern is charted with the exception of the set up rows and a couple of transition rows between the mesh and the edging.

This project would work well for those who have a little bit of experience with chart reading and lace work.
