Yarn:
40-65 yards of red yarn for Santa’s suit and hat
20-45 yards of white yarn for Santa beard and trim
15-40 yards of black yarn for Santa’s belt and boots
15-40 yards of skin color yarn for face and hands

This pattern is written round by round so that you can use any weight yarn you want to create all sorts of sizes of Santa friends. Try sock weight yarn for ornaments perfectly sized for your tree, or bulky weight yarn for decorations for your mantel! The heavier the yarn weight, the more yardage needed.

Don’t have all of the colors of yarn on hand? We do! We also sell this pattern as a kit in our shop.

Gauge: You pick! Simply knit with your choice of yarn on needles 2-3 sizes smaller than called for to get a tight knit fabric your stuffing wont show through.

Needles: You pick! A 40” or longer circular needle (for Magic Loop Method) in a size right for your yarn.

Notions: Scissors, tapestry needle, beginning of the round stitch marker (removable or closed) and optional row counter. Removable stitch markers: 8 for the santa.

Finished size: Varies depending on the yarn you use. For the samples shown in the pattern we used sock weight yarn and 6mm safety eyes. The bodies came out 3”, not including legs, hat, and other limbs.
