This wide scarf has an openwork ripple but is still warm because it is long and wide enough for several wraps around. For a cozy look, try felting the scarf in the washing machine.

Width can be adjusted by adding or removing multiples of 22 chains. Although it may appear at first that the peaks don’t line up evenly, continue with the pattern as written for best results.

This pattern includes both written instructions in U.S. crochet terminology and an international crochet stitch symbol chart. This is an intermediate level pattern that will take about 4-7 hours to complete.
