The Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop 2014 highlighted Local Color throughout the Twin City area.

Lila and Claudine’s 2014 Shop Hop pattern represented the Ferris Wheel and Roller Coaster that the Wildwood Amusement Park in Mahtomedi, MN was famous for. Wildwood Amusement Park operated from 1889 to 1932 on the shores of White Bear Lake.

The Wild Ride Shawl is a relatively easy knit with a lace border and then a ribbed body with the purl stitches of the ribbing being dropped right before the shawl is finished. Short Rows are used to shape the shawl. This shawl would make a nice light weight garment for the summer and warm when wrapped around your neck in colder temperatures.

The Original Wild Ride Shawl was knit with hand dyed “Trippin with Dixie” sock yarn.

Enjoy the Ride. And thanks for checking out this pattern.
