This is February - March 2017 pattern of the Six Sox Knitalong group. You must be a member (anyone can join for free) to access and download these patterns. You can download the PDF in the files section in the 2017 folder.

The pattern is a variation on a stitch pattern I found in a Japanese stitch book. I modified it to make the stitch pattern symmetrical.

I wanted to knit socks for my aunt and uncle in-laws. These socks are similar, but not identical. They are named after the city
where they live. The socks are knitted top down. Version 1 (in red) uses yarn over increases to give a lacy appearance. Version 2
(in grey) uses make 1 increases to give a solid appearance. Both have garter stitch triangles alternating with knit stitch triangles.

The sock pattern uses a dutch heel. The toe is a little different. Instead of grafting the instep and sole stitches, the side stitches are grafted, creating a bumper.
