I have always loved the “wiener dog” that my friend owns. When she approached me to write a pattern for her to knit a model of her puppy, I decided that I would love to do it.
But… I wanted to write the pattern to enable the knitter to make the pup in any weight of yarn she desires.
So.. this design is written to incorporate fingering weight yarn (1) - the pup that is brown and tiny in size. The mid-size dog in the multi coloured yarn is done in Carons Simply Soft Light (3) and is a wee bit larger . The largest dog is the worsted weight yarn (4) done in Loops and Threads Luxurious Fur. The pattern for each is exactly the same.. the only change is the weight of yarn . And, on the furry pup I positioned the legs to make him lay down instead of stand.

This is an easy knit and instructions are given for the assembly of the pattern pieces with ease.
