As a child, I spent a lot of time on the shores and in the water of the many lakes in the Okanagan. Willow trees grow big along the shoreline and as the waves erode away the sand and soil beneath them they lean into the lake making perfect trees to climb out on and jump off of. This hat is inspired by these childhood memories. The willow’s flowing branches brush the surface of the water, the reflected light off the water onto the foliage, and the footstep trail of wet kids as they climb out on the rough trunk and jump off into the cool water below.

Knit flat from brim to peak with short rows to shape the crown this hat can be tried on as you knit for the perfect fit.
