Winging It is a triangular two-colour shawl incorporating the easy-to-learn mosaic technique. Unlike classic two colour stranded knitting, mosaic knitting only uses one colour at a time. It is a form of slip-stitch knitting. The shawl is knit flat, and in each row you will work with one colour and slip the remaining stitches. A tutorial with a practice swatch for the technique are included. Most of my testers did not have mosaic knitting experience, and you can see how beautiful their FOs are!

The pattern also incorporates the icelandic bind off, which provides a decorative edge similar to the i-cord bind off but with less work. Instructions for this bind off are also included in the pattern. Any bind off can substituted.

Yarn. DK weight yarn will give you a lightweight, medium-sized shawl. You could use worsted weight for a larger shawl, or a sport weight for more of a shawlette. This pattern was tested extensively with DK weight yarn.

Skills Reqd. Knit, Purl, M1 (make one), and slip stitch.

Other materials. 4 stitch markers, optional.
