Diagonal increases and decreases combine with a vibrant, gradient colorway to create socks that evoke images of stained glass panels of butterflies and hearts. The cuffs have an extended ribbing along the sides that ensure a comfortable fit for any calf size.

The pattern describes how to knit these two at a time, toe up, on a 40” circular needle using the Magic Loop technique. You are welcome to knit these one at a time on DPNs or a 9” circular if you prefer.

The geometric formations are achieved using combinations of increases and decreases, and are best suited to a gradual gradient colorway, though a solid or tonal works well as well. Strongly variegated colorways are not recommended as they will obscure the details in the design.

Suggested Yarns:
Sesia Bimbo (2 balls) - inexpensive, cotton, beautiful vivid colors
Noro Taiyo Sock (1 skein, divided) - sturdy, fiber blend, lovely color options

Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball (1 ball, divided) - this one is only single ply so would be best for “special occasion” socks rather than heavy wear, but the colors work well.
