NOTE - due to my technoincompetence The pattern Wingspan and the eBook Wingspan and Beyond are EXACTLY the same thing - sorry for any confusion. Buy the eBook Wingspan and Beyond to get the Wingspan pattern and extra content.
The Wingspan and Beyond eBook is now updated - anyone who bought Wingspan instead of Wingspan and Beyond (everyone after 20th July 2013) has been sent the complete new eBook - but if they prefer it to have the right name as well they can obtain Wingspan and Beyond for free (no code or anything needed just buy it now and Ravelry cleverly knows you are entitled to it.) YOU HAVE UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH TO DO THIS (END OF JULY 2014)
This design is deceptively simple, knitted in one piece, shaped by short rows and completely in garter stitch. It works up very quickly. The basis is a series of triangles knitted on to each other but staggered by a set number of stitches (which are cast on again at the beginning of each new triangle.)
There are instructions to adapt the design to any yarn and to adjust the size.
I have been stunned by the beautiful shawls that so many wonderful people have produced, both by the use of yarn and by modifying the design in personal ways.
For a visual feast of some of the eye-catching yarns used and a description of mods people have made check out my Pinterest Board.
This eBook is now complete apart from corrections and bits that need rewriting. If you find any mistakes or wording that could be improved please let me know.
ATTENTION LYS We should all support our LYS (I only wish I had one). To help in some small way I have a free single sheet version of Wingspan for use in Workshops, yarn tie-ins etc as long as distribution is only by hard copy.
This was an exclusive design for the Tri’Coterie Angels Club June 2011, available generally from January 2012.
