Want an easy, fun hat to knit that really shows off your favorite variegated yarn or adds texture to solid colors? The Winnetka Hat uses simple slipped stitches to great effect. The pattern has both written instructions and a chart, but chances are that once you get started, you’ll barely need to look at them since it’s so easy to follow.

The Winnetka Hat uses approximately 55g, less than 1 skein of yarn. The hat size is easily adjustable -- if you need to make it smaller or larger, just change the cast-on amount by a multiple of 12. The only skills needed for this hat are: knit in the round, knit, purl, slip stitches, and knit 2 stitches together.
