A garter stitch cowl knitted flat and sideways in bulky yarn makes this a very quick knit. Narrow in the back to reduce unnecessary bulk and longer in the front to protect you from the cold winds of winter. It can be folded over more or less to give you the coverage desired.

The pattern can easily be modified so that it is either tighter or looser around the neck.
