YARN
Ístex Bulkylopi: 100% Icelandic wool; 66 yds 60 m per 3.5 oz 100 g skein.
Color A: 0054 Light Ash Heather; 5 skeins.
Color B: 9998 Atlantic Blue Shaded; 2 skeins.

NEEDLES
US #13 9.0 mm, or size needed to obtain gauge;
40” 100 cm circular needles.

NOTIONS
8 stitch markers
Blunt tapestry needle.
Blocking pins, if desired.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
This shawl is worked flat horizontally.
Directions for the Picot Cast On and the Estonian Lace Bind Off, as well as other useful information, can be found in the Special Techniques section of the book.
Slip all markers unless otherwise directed.
When slipping the first stitch of a row, slip the stitch purlwise with yarn in front.
When slipping a stitch to work a decrease sl 1, k2tog, psso, slip the stitch knitwise with yarn in back.
All WS stitches are purled except for the 4-st garter stitch border at the beginning and the end of each row and the p3tog nupps.
Color A is the main color throughout the pattern; Color B is the contrasting color used only in Rows 11-28 of the Center Sections.
