The Winter Wonderland Hat and Mitt set was designed for the Sun Valley Thaw Retreat 2014. The yarn used is the Sun Valley 80/10/10 Superwash Merino/Cashmere/Nylon Worsted and it is a wonderful, squishy, and soft yarn.

The hat size could fit a wide range of head sizes from older child to a large adult-size head. The cable and pom-pom could be left out and off to make the hat a little more manly.

The mitts are written for three sizes, small, medium and large or a 6 (7, 8) inch hand circumference at the knuckles. The small size in the mitts could fit an older child for sure. The cable on the mitts is slightly offset toward the thumb side of the mitt.

The cable pattern is super easy and would be a perfect first-time cable pattern for someone new. For experienced knitters, this will be a breeze.

The pattern was tech-edited by Amy Detjen and test knit by Jeanette of Sun Valley Fibers.
