There is so much vitality in a skein of yarn spun by hand, so much personality embedded in the subtle or not-so-subtle modulation of thickness. The Herringbone stitch is the perfect companion to a yarn with so much to say. Worked on large needles, the resulting stitches both showcase the lovely variations in plant-dyed color as well as create a fabric so squishy you might never take it off. And chances are, if you’ve knit it out of wool (naturally antibacterial and odor-resistant!) you might get a nice long run out of it.

This is a one-skein pattern, designed to use an entire skein of This is Wool. First Harvest. Offered in two sizes to adjust to the varied yardage offered in the handspun skeins. Choose size based on skein yardage, not perceived neck size.

Gauge is provided as a reference for selecting appropriate substitutions. Matching exact gauge is not critical; skip it altogether if using First Harvest yarn.
