I rediscovered knitting at a time when the whole world seemed bland and uninteresting. Picking up some knitting needles really changed the way I’m looking at the world and has helped me find my sense of wonder again.

As an homage to this feeling, I made Wonder cowl using one of the techniques that made me excited to create.

Wonder cowl is knit flat and seamed together after blocking. It’s a fun project that can be made in a matter of days and leave you feeling accomplished.

Finished size: 22 cm high, 78 cm wide when flat but 77 cm circumference after seaming.

Yarn and yardage:
Garnstudio DROPS Muskat (100% cotton; ~100 m, ~109 yds/50 g):

  • Colour A: 13 Navy Blue (~200 m) – 100 g needed;
  • Colour B: 39 Heather (~130 m) – 100 g needed.

Needles: 4.0 mm, or whatever size that results in a correct gauge; 80 cm or longer circular needles needed because of large number of stitches.

Gauge: 22 sts and 40 rows in garter stitch.

Notions: tapestry needle, stitch markers.
