Lacy girls hooded cardigan, evocative of woodland fairies and elves. Embossed leafy lace border all around, with optional beads around the cuffs and hem.

Photos are of my son Alec (5 years old) “pretending to be a girl” for the photo shoot. He’s wearing a size 6.

Sizes: 3/4T (5/6, 7/8)
Chest circumference: 27 (30, 32) inches
Yarn: Fingering Weight 700 (820, 950) yards.

If using multiple colors, get twice as much yarn for the starting and ending colors as for the middle colors.

Example: If you pick 5 colors, take the total yardage for your size, divide by 7, and then use that number for yardage for your “middle colors,” and use twice that number for your hood and bottom border colors.

Example math: 5 colors, total yardage for size 3/4T is 700 yards. Middle colors need approximately 100 yards each, and top and bottom colors need approximately 200 yards each.

8/16/10: UPDATE! Found an error in the pattern -- need to increase an additional 2 stitches before doing the bottom border. Pattern has been updated, please download a fresh copy.
