This is the tenth in a series of twelve linked patterns for a knitted wreath, to be published daily in December 2013.

This pattern is for little owls to perch amongst the leaves. Their bodies are knitted in one piece and then sewn together. Then knitted wings are sewn on, together with eyes and a beak made out of small scraps of felt.

There are two sizes of owls, the big ones are about 4 cm tall and the small ones 3 cm. They are knitted in two shades of brown double knitting weight yarn. As they are quite flat, these little owls could easily be turned into brooches.

All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them, please consider making a donation to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, a charity which funds research and supports the families of children with a liver disease. You can do this easily by going to my fundraising page www.justgiving.com/frankiesknittedstuff

Happy Knitting!
