Having just wrestled with a multi coloured stranded sock, I wanted to design a pattern that just used two colours throughout. It’s a very simple little leaf chart, and in the course of the sock, it will get modified in three different ways: on the heel, it disappears into stripes without decreases, over the instep it decreases centrally, and on the toe it gets decreased from the outside in. Not that that’s important, the little geek inside just wanted to point it out…

Woodruff (or Waldmeister) is a very poplular flavouring in Germany, used for puddings and a variety of mostly alcoholic drinks. It is usually coloured in a very lurid green, but the actual herb is rather pretty wityh its white flowers.
