Inspired by woven tartan shawls, Woodwoven is knit from side to side in a simple twisted stockinette with just a hint of plaid. The crosshatched stripes are created by rows and columns of yarn overs during the knitting of the shawl, through which yarn is pulled through after blocking.

MATERIALS

  • 3 skeins of Julie Asselin Leizu DK in Fleurs Pressées, or 714 meters / 780 yards of DK weight yarn
  • Approx. 15 meters / 16.5 yards of contrasting aran-weight yarn. Used in sample: Drop’s Nepal in Cream
  • US 7 (4.5mm) circular needles
  • 2 stitch markers
