Easy Quick Knit, Stash buster, One Skein

The ribbing mimics the staves on a cask while the purl bands look like the metal bands. You can knit it wrong side out or right side out, your choice.

This hat is knit bottom-up always viewing the right or wrong side, using basic stitches. The most complex stitches would be for decreasing the crown (k2tog, ssk, p2tog or p2togtbl). This hat is 9 inches top to bottom and 20 inches around not stretched out.

This pattern only contains written instructions.

Remember this hat can be worked on the wrong side and once you finish then turned inside out to see the finished product. There are also written instructions for working right side out. The decision depends on how much you enjoy purling!!

❖ Chunky or Aran weight yarn. 1 Hank needed which gives you 110yds to work with if you are not adding sections or increasing the hat to be slouchy.
❖ US 8/5.0mm size circular needle or double-pointed needles/pins or size needed to obtain gauge.
❖ US 7/4.5 mm size double-pointed needles/pins for decreasing & finishing the hat top. You will need a set of 5.
❖ Stitch markers
❖ Darning/tapestry needle
