This is a crochet pattern for an EASY and versatile ruana wrap that can be worn in several different ways -- crossed in the front, open in the front, or one front panel over the shoulder. It fits a lot like a rectangular poncho, except that it is open in the front. As you can see from the photos, it has a beautiful drape in the back.

• 28 oz / 1,704 yds worsted weight (medium weight 4) yarn
(I used 4 skeins BERNAT Super Value, color: TAUPE)

• Size US J10 6.00 mm crochet hook – or hook size needed to obtain gauge

CONSTRUCTION / STITCH OVERVIEW

This ruana is made by joining one long side of two crocheted rectangles together (almost halfway, via whip stitch); leaving what will be the front, open.

The stitch pattern is a four-row repeat that consists of various combinations of hdc stitches worked in both loops and back loops and chain spaces.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Width: back panel: 40”; front panels: 20” each

Length: back panel: 23”; front panels: 30” each
