Pattern Description

Bill is a huge Red Sox fan. His sons are die-hard Yankees supporters. Needless to say, over the past few seasons there has been a little tension in that household come playoff time. Several years ago, Deb decided to knit all her boys this baseball-inspired cardigan. Its raglan sleeves are knit in one color with the body knit in another. The boys got blue and white ones and Bill got blue and red, and they all wore their sweaters during the games. Like many baseball fanatics, Bill and his sons believe in the occasional superstition or curse, and Bill began to notice a pattern emerging with his sons’ sweaters. When Quentin wore his sweater but Teddy didn’t, the Sox won. So last year when Bill got playoff tickets to Game Seven--the Yankees versus the Red Sox--on the way out the door to the game, Bill nonchalantly grabbed Quentin’s sweater and handed Teddy a fleece…Now the boys can no longer tease their dad about the Curse of the Bambino.
