Winter has settled in, and it’s time for a cozy comfort knit, something to snuggle up in as snowflakes fall.

Wove is a beginner-friendly triangular shawl with a dramatic basketweave border. It begins with just two stitches, then knits up in a flash in worsted or aran-weight yarn.

Most of the shawl body is knitted in garter stitch, so it is ideal for knitting with friends or on the road. The occasional textured bands are fun to work and make satisfying milestones along the way. Slipped stitches give the border an eye-catching three-dimensional effect.

The finished shawl is bold and modern and sure to banish winter winds!

Fully written instructions are provided, along with one optional chart.

The exquisite closure in the photos is the Runa Penannular Brooch created by JUL Designs.
