Wowligan (wee owligan)

Cute yoked cardigan with cabled owls and 8 sizes to fit babies, toddlers and kids.
With a choice of charted or written instructions, and the option of knitting the sleeves flat or in the round, this is a speedy knit, and a great wee sweater for beginners.

Yarn
Kate Davies Designs Buachaille (100% Scottish Wool; 110m /120 yds per 50g skein) 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6) skeins.
A good superwash alternative is Debbie Bliss Baby
Cashmerino (Sport weight; 55% wool, 33% microfibre, 12%
cashmere; 125m / 137yds per 50g ball). Yarn quantities have been calculated with a 5% allowance to allow for swatching. If adding significant length to either body or sleeves, please add an extra skein

Gauge
26 sts and 34 rows to 10cm / 4in over stockinette stitch. For reference, gauge was achieved on a 3.5mm needle.

Needles and Notions
60cm / 24in circular needle at gauge-size and below gauge-size for body and yoke
Gauge-size and below gauge-size needle(s) of your preferred type for working sleeves either in the round or back and forth.
26 (28, 30, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38) x 0.5-1cm / ¼-½in buttons for owl eyes (optional)
Waste yarn. 4 stitch markers. Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
3 x 1.5cm / ½in buttons for front bands.
