This pattern was first published as a free supplement to The Knitter, Issue 25, from the end of October 2010. The supplement says that Lily France was 12 years old when she designed Wray.

It’s a cardigan with short, slightly puffed and pleated sleeves, top-down construction, and buttoned only from neck to bust with 5 buttons. It is knitted on circular needles.

It was originally designed for a cobweb weight yarn which is no longer available, so five alternative cobweb and laceweight yarns are recommended:

Artist’s Palette Yarns Damsel (1-2 skeins);
Fyberspates Nef Lace (1-2 skeins);
Jade Sapphire Lacy (2-3 balls);
Malabrigo Lace (2-4 skeins);
Manos del Uruguay Lace (2-4 skeins).

There is no stitch diagram or charts, but there is a step-by-step photo-guide on working pleats for the sleeves.

The design was originally blogged by the designer and it is listed on Ravelry as the designer’s project here.

Back issues of issue 25 are now sold out.
