This cloth is larger than most - 8” x 11”, so it could even be a small placemat or ‘doily’ to protect furniture.

The picture shows a ‘skein’ with the word ‘YARN’ on the band, but if you would prefer, the bold red pattern stitches at the end of Rows 34 – 42 are for the option of knitting those rows of the cloth for a plain band, without the word “YARN”

Also, in bold blue writing, I have made note after Row 28 and Row 46 for a yarn change, if you desire to make the band a different color than the yarn part of the cloth.

For a smaller cloth, maybe try using some sport weight cotton yarn and size 3 (3.23 mm) needles? If you try it, send me a note to let me know how it turned out.
