Introduction -
Designed for either double knitting or colorwork in the round, this scarf is sure to start your year with a fantastic adventure! This quest will play out in an 4 week campaign following the next step of your character’s adventures through the land of Yarnia. In addition to this document outlining the basics of the MKAL you fill find Character Sheets for both you and a Feline Companion, instructions for filling in your sheets, and the basic cast on instructions.

What is a Knitting RPG (KRPG)?
A Knitting Role Playing Game!
The way this works is that I shall act as the Dungeon Master (Game Master) for a custom game of Yarn Quest – The Solar Serpent. Starting May 15th I will release instructions for determining what charts to knit on your scarf. These charts will be randomized by each person using a set of stats. There are many charts, so everyone’s scarf will be unique!

Special Equipment
If you don’t have a set already, I highly recommend getting a set of 7 D20 gaming dice (D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20). They can be found at your local game store (Games by James, etc) or through Amazon - Make sure you pick a set with the 7 different dice, pick whatever colors you like best!.
If you don’t want to pick up a set of dice, sites like Random.org or random number generators will also work. There’s probably an app out there for dice rolls, because there’s apps for everything.

Gauge -
Double knitting -
16 stitches and 20 rows - 4” or 10 cm
Colorwork -
20 stitches and 20 rows - 4” or 10 cm
Gauge is not vital to this project.

Colors -
Some good color combos to try out include -
• Red and Black
• Blue and Gold
• Gold and Black
• Silver and Blue
• Green and Gold
• Black and White
• White and Pine
Remember that you can always test if your colors have enough contrast by taking a photo of the colors side by side and using a filter to turn it into a black and white photo.
