A cozy cowl that knits up super quick in super bulky yarn. This pattern is perfect for when you want something quick but with a bit of complexity to keep you interested.

This cowl uses the “Garter Stitch Cobblestones” stitch from 400 Knitting Stitches (Potter Craft, p. 24), which I’ve adapted to be knit in the round.

I recommend having some knowledge of stranded knitting and carrying your yarn behind your work. Because of the bulky yarn and simple stitch, this may be a good project to learn to do stranded colour-work. Be sure to keep your strands loose behind your cobblestones, or you will not be able to get the cowl over your head.

Finished circumference: ~18 in.
Guage: 2.5 st/in in stockinette

Supplies:

Size 6mm circular needle, or the size to get guage (I always use a longer circular and work with magic loop. Use a length you are comfortable with).

Berroco Peruvia Quick, 1 skein main colour, 1 skein contrast colour. For the original, my MC was #9127 and my CC was #9187. When substituting yarn, make sure you’re working with a similar weight, or you’ll have to do some math to convert the pattern to a lighter weight - the Peruvia Quick is a super bulky yarn. (I used very little of the CC, if you have some leftovers you want to use up, this would be a great way to do that.)
