Take a standard canning jar, fill it with potpourri, candy, bath salts, buttons or other filling of your choice, cover it with this beautiful jar doily, and you’ll have a gift jar that your friends and family will love. These jars make lovely hostess gifts or housewarming gifts, and you’ll want to make them for your own home too.

This jar doily is unusual and beautiful, yet you can make one in less than a day using size 10 crochet thread and a size 7 hook. You’ll want to make several to give as gifts, and some for your own home as well.

Materials and Supplies:

• Size 10 crochet cotton: White, Hunter Green, Variegated Yellow – 100 yds of each
• Size 7 crochet hook
• Standard canning jar, Kerr or Ball, with a 2-1/2 inch diameter mouth
• Potpourri, bath salts, buttons, candy, or other filler for jar
• 24-inch length of ¼-inch wide satin ribbon, hunter green, or to match jar topper
• Large-eyed yarn needle or bodkin
• Small, sharp scissors
