Yellow Tang
This was designed for the Hawaii Reef Exhibit 2012, focusing on fish. Yellow Hawaiian Tang, also known as the
Yellow Sailfin Tang or Yellow Surgeonfish (Zebrasoma flavescens), is a saltwater fish species of the family Acanthurida. Adult fish can grow to 20 centimeters (7.9 in) in length, and 1–2 centimeters (0.39–0.79 in) in thickness. This species is bright daffodil yellow in color. They have a long snout-like mouth used to eat algae and seaweeds that suffocate corals. Both the dorsal and anal fins are large, extending for most of the length of the body. In the wild, yellow tang provide cleaner services to marine turtles.

F/3.75 mm hook and worsted/aran yarn for body
E/3.5mm hook and sport/baby weight lighter yellow yarn for fins
Eye/Safety eye, needle and thread or glue for eye (optional)
D/3mm hook and 2’ of black sport/baby weight if making eye
Yarn/Tapestry needle for sewing eye
Small Fiberfill or desired material for stuffing
