Following on from their successful ascent of Catbells, Yewbarrow was our next destination for a family walk. The ascent from Wasdale starts with a steep grassy slope and then transforms into a rocky climb, perfect for little chubby legs to get their first taste of ‘grown up’ mountain climbing.
A fun, view-filled walk along the top and then down for hot chocolate and flapjack, made for the perfect day out.

This pattern looks quite complex to start with but is actually a very simple 4 round repeat with just 2 cable crosses - ideal if you’d like to try cabling without a needle maybe? A variation on a seed stitch rib adds texture and interest to either side of the central cable panel and has the added advantage that it is super quick to work. These socks offer a fun and addictive knit and produce a great unisex result.
