Dressing a baby or small child can be a challenge. The Yin Yang Modular Sweater is the perfect solution.

This seamless sweater is knit in 2 halves, The Yin and The Yang, there is no struggling involved; slip on 1 half and tie, slip on the other half, tie, done! The two halves are identical, so there is no “backwards”, a bonus for those little ones who love to dress themselves.

Two colours of yarn are required. The yardage given is the total i.e. for the smallest size 1 skein Lion Brand Cotton Ease (3.5oz/207 yds; 100g/188m) of each colour is required; all other sizes require 2 skeins of each colour.

Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Ultrasoft yarn works to the same gauge as Lion Brand Cotton Ease so can be used as an alternate yarn. Green and White/speckled samples were made using Handicrafter Cotton Ultrasoft yarn.

This sweater, knit side-to-side, sports a 6-stitch plait cable at the hem and neckline edges which provides a lovely scalloped finish. The cable design is repeated on the top of the sleeves. Asymmetric sides are tied with I-cord ties (picture tutorial included).
