Yonder is a snuggly, cabled beanie to keep you warm this winter no matter where your travels may take you. Add a pompom for some extra spunk or not! You decide!

Materials
Yarn Used for Samples: Madelinetosh tosh vintage-1 skein=200 yards-Colorway: coal seam OR Malabrigo Rios-1 skein=210 yards-Colorway: teal feather

Yarn Required for Pattern: Approximately 150 yards of a worsted weight yarn.

Needles:
Us 6.0/4.0 mm 16 inch circular needle
US 7.0/4.5 mm 16 inch circular needle
US 7.0/4.5 mm double pointed needles
(or as required to meet gauge)
Gauge: 21 sts=4 inches on US 7
Sizes: Average Adult Female (21 inch head circumference.)

Abbreviations, Definitions and Techniques
K-knit
P-purl
CO-cast on
PM-place marker
st/s-stitch/stitches
DPNs-double pointed needles
K2tog-knit 2 sts together
P2tog-purl 2 sts together
Ssk-slip 1 st as if to knit, slip 1 st as if to purl through the back loop, knit the 2 sts together through the back loops. Note: This is how I make my ssk but please feel free to make it the way your normally do!:) Also, it is easier just to use the regular ssk on the C4BD, since it is not going to show under the other sts.
Sl2-k1-psso-slip 2 sts as if to knit 2 together, knit 1 st, pass the 2 slipped sts over the knit st.
C4B-cable 4 back-slip 2 stitches to cn and hold in back, k2, k2 from cn
C4F-cable 4 front-slip 2 stitches to cn and hold in front, k2, k2 from cn
C4BD-cable 4 back decrease-slip 2 stitches to cn and hold in back, k2 from LH needle then ssk from cn
C4FD-cable 4 front decrease-slip 2 stitches to cn and hold in front, k2tog from LH needle then k2 from cn.
C4FDD-cable 4 front double decrease-slip 2 stitches to cn and hold in front, k2tog from LH needle, then k2tog from cn.

Knowledge of cables, basic decreases and cable decreases is definitely helpful but not required.
Difficulty:2-4 out of 5(adventurous beginner to advanced knitter). It depends on how advanced you are as a knitter and how familiar you are with cables and cable decreases.
