Discontinued. This digital pattern is no longer available online.

All of my Nintendo Washcloth pattens are discontinued. If you added the patterns to your Ravelry library when they were available, the files should still be there for you to use. However, as they feature trademarked characters I do not own, I no longer distribute them to anyone, on or off Ravelry. Thank you for understanding!

It’s true that few Mario characters are as cute and lovable as Yoshi. This washcloth pattern adds him to the growing list of characters that now have their own designs in this series.

This pattern’s PDF includes a chart for the stitches as well as alternative instructions for the chart-phobic. I made the test cloth black because I had black cotton yarn I needed to use up, but I would recommend green, red, yellow, blue… really, yoshis can be found in all kinds of colours! It’s a more complex pattern than most textured washcloths, but still very quick and easy to knit.

All the Nintendo-themed washcloths are designed to be exactly the same size (25 x 25 cm/10 x 10 inches), so they can also be used as afghan squares and they should all line up nicely with one another. The charts included can be used as double-knitting templates as well by treating RS knit stitches as colour A and RS purl stitches as colour B, excluding the garter stitch edge. Note that for double-knitting you will need twice as much yarn (70-80 yards of each colour) because you are basically knitting two squares at once.

Enjoy!
