“Overlapping leaves cascade down the body of this playful scarf to meet a pair of cheerful owls set above soft tassels”

This is an intermediate–difficulty scarf that makes use of cable, lace, and entrelac techniques. Prior experience with entrelac is not necessary, but it will make the pattern easier to follow.

Exact gauge is not important; what you want is a fabric that is solid but still soft. For worsted weight yarn, 4-5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch is usually good.

A note on yardage, I used all 440 yards of yarn to knit the scarf pictured and it came out very long (7-8ft?) but you could easily stop sooner and use less yarn and make a shorter scarf.
