This asymmetrical triangular shawl features an arrow motif that was inspired by the traditional Japanese pattern known as yagasuri or yabane. Based on the fletching on arrows, the pattern is associated with protection and good luck.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 4 (5) skeins of Gilliatt by De Rerum Natura (100% wool, 273 yds / 250 m – 100 g), colourway Doré. Or approx. 930 (1185) yds / 851 (1084) m of worsted-weight yarn.

Needles: US 7 / 4.5 mm 40″ / 100 cm circular needles. Note! It may be easier to begin with a shorter cable length and change to a longer one as needed.

Notions: Stitch markers (optional).

GAUGE
One boxed repeat of chart is approx. 4.5″ / 11.5 cm in width and 8″ / 20.5 cm in length on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles, after blocking.

CONSTRUCTION
The asymmetrical triangular shawl is worked seamlessly in one piece from the cast-on point to the fullest edge. The shawl features an arrow motif created with twisted sts, which then transitions to 1 x 1 Rib for the bind-off edge.
