The base of the pincushion is worked in twisted rib and the icing is made using an i-cord (full instructions are on the pattern).

The pattern uses half a ball of the two colours for the pincushion and just a small amount of a contrasting shade for the embroidery and cherry on the top!

To make the pincushion stand up neatly you can insert a circle of card in the base before stuffing.

This pattern was originally sold in a kit at The Knitting and Stitching Show and was very popular.
