As sure as spring follows winter, fall is sure to come right after Summer! Fall brings those favorite colors, as the leaves change and the pumpkins grow. This shawl combines my love of fall colors (and reminds me how much I miss living somewhere that has a real fall), and takes note of the falling leaves that seem to decorate the season. This is the perfect opportunity to pull out those three special colors of sock yarn that you have had set aside for a crisp fall day (and even better if your second color choice is a Speckled! This design is made for those stray skeins of speckles that you just can’t stop buying!) Start knitting today and you’ll be able to find your zen all season long.

Zen and the Art of Pretty String is a semi-circular shawl, worked seamlessly from the top down. The Lace Stitches are written out, and there is no shaping taking place during the lace here, just simple, happy knitting. This is the pattern you will want to reach for when you just need a minute to find your zen with your pretty string.
